Not only do the students learn useful phrases, but they are also given clear concise explanations and tips on how to:

  • Construct their own sentences: important for initiating and developing conversations
  • Ask questions and give answers, using both positives and negatives.
  • Adapt language they already know to deal with a variety of situations

This series of booklets shows students how to develop their independence in the use of French and how to speak French.

About 98% of the linguistic constructions needed for the GCSE exams feature in the course. Most of them are fully explained, others are highlighted in bold so that students can identify a pattern and others are referred to in the text of stories and plays.

Grammar covered systematically

With this teaching resource, the language department can be sure that grammar is covered systematically. The plays and sketches deal with: work experience, visit to the doctors, life at school, towns, shopping and relationships with peers etc. It ensures that students can refer to the past, present and future relatively early on.

Careful attention has been paid to all words and constructions included so as to facilitate comprehension and enable the student to reproduce words and phrases with ease, whilst fully understanding the grammar involved.

Listening

There are several plays and sketches, which can be recorded by the French staff and the comprehension exercises can be done as a listening activity.
