The writer of the scheme, Jenny Gardner, Associate of the Institute of Linguists, has been running her successful French teaching business for over 15 years.

Jenny has introduced French to many students, from primary school to adult students wanting to learn for business or pleasure, who through her
innovative teaching methods have discovered that they can learn at any age!

The verb-based course has enabled GCSE students to conquer their inhibitions and overcome negative feelings towards the language. It has shown them that speaking and writing French can be enjoyable and rewarding. Some of Jenny's private students not doing French beyond GCSE have continued French lessons with her to keep up their fluency!

In addition to the verb- based course, Jenny has designed a special scheme for life long learners and business students as well as a scheme for primary school children from 4 to 11 years. Her short stories for primary and secondary school students as well as those for business and life long learners make the learning of French fun.

Primary school students and their families are delighted by Jenny's games, which are designed to keep them speaking French between the lessons.

Jenny has worked in secondary schools as a supply teacher, taught many GCSE students from several schools privately, has run pre-GCSE revision courses in secondary schools and teaches in companies, using her own teaching materials.

In 2001 she was nominated for a NIACE (National Organization for adult learning) award by her students at the Ford Motor Company and appears on the tutors' register operated by the Languages National Training Organization. (www.languagesnto.org.uk)
